FEBI IAIN Parepare -- The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) at IAIN Parepare successfully organized a Curriculum Review and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The event took place from Monday to Thursday (July 17-20, 2023) at Lagota, aiming to enhance and enrich the curriculum adopted by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business. This series of activities is part of FEBI's efforts to ensure the relevance and sustainability of its academic programs.

The Two-Day Curriculum Review involved key stakeholders to evaluate essential aspects of the curriculum, including the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategic Objectives (VMTS). In-depth discussions were held to ensure the curriculum remains aligned with current developments and maximizes benefits for students.

In addition, the series of activities included a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held on Wednesday and Thursday (July 19-20, 2023). The FGD served as a crucial platform connecting academia with professionals and industry representatives. Stakeholders from institutions such as BSI Parepare and Barru, Bank Muamalat, BAZNAS, Pegadaian Parepare, Pinrang Tourism Office, Parepare Manpower Office, Bakti Huria Syariah Cooperative, Parepare Tourism Office, and several accounting practitioners actively participated in the FGD.

The discussions during the FGD were interactive and productive, with Rosihan Aslihuddin, an Expert Staff member from the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, providing profound insights into curriculum aspects. FGD participants engaged actively, sharing their views on how the curriculum can better prepare students to face the demands of the Islamic economics and business sectors.

The Vice Rector I of IAIN Parepare, Dr. H. Saepudin, emphasized the importance of direct FGDs with stakeholders during the opening ceremony, particularly in the context of FEBI, which greatly benefits from the expertise of practitioner lecturers. This initiative aims to ensure that the learning approach remains relevant to the demands and needs of the professional and industrial world.

The Dean of FEBI, Dr. Muzdalifah Muhammadun, affirmed the faculty’s commitment to continuously improving the quality of education and producing graduates capable of competing in an increasingly complex job market. Through the Curriculum Review activities, the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at IAIN Parepare demonstrates its determination to provide high-quality education that aligns with contemporary developments.

By involving stakeholders and incorporating input from various related parties, FEBI IAIN Parepare aims to continuously enhance its curriculum, establishing it as a benchmark for competitive Islamic economics and business education in the future. (mma)
